The city of Chichester offers a wealth of ancient history and culture...

It is the perfect place to rediscover England's hidden history and rich culture.

Here's a quick look at what you can discover here:

  • Chichester Cathedral

    This gorgeous cathedral, now home to a family of peregrine falcons, has been standing for over 900 years!
  • Chichester city walls 
    Surrounding the city is a mile and a half long Roman built-wall that's the most intact circuit of Roman town defenses in Southern England.
  • John Edes House

    This stunning Georgian mansion was built at the end of the 17th century for John Edes and his wife. It's now used for weddings and private functions.
  • Market Cross 
    This stunning clock was given to the city by Bishop Storey in 1501. It's a beautiful structure that's worth viewing!
  • Guildhall in Priory Park

    In the heart of the city centre lies this grade I listed building. Although it's had many functions over the years, it is now used as a wedding venue.
  • Pallant House 
    The Pallant House has established itself as one of the finest modern art galleries outside of London.
  • Chichester Festival Theatre

    Known for its exceptionally high standard of productions, the Chichester Festival Theatre is one of England's most striking playhouses.
  • St Mary's Hospital Almshouse 
    A medieval hospital, known for its remarkable survival as a 13th-century hospital, is still used today as an almshouse.
  • Weald and Downland

    This open-air museum is a 40-acre site in South Downs National Park. It includes homes and historic gardens, farm animals and farming heritage, and much more!
  • Fishbourne Roman Palace
    Just outside of Chichester is this outstanding roman site and now a museum. It's well worth a visit and takes you a step back in history.
  • The Goodwood Estate

    This spectacular estate hosts the Festival of Speed, Goodwood Revival, and Qatar Goodwood Festival. There's always something exciting happening at The Goodwood.
  • The Novium 
    Located on Tower street, the Novium was built to show remains of a Roman bathhouse. It's an amazing museum filled with everything from Roman centurions to space travel. 
  • Chichester Harbour

    The harbour has a rich history from when the Romans ruled Sussex and is now a sailing playground and habitat for seabirds. It's a stunning nature reserve worth visiting.
